Welcome to Northcote Water Polo Club - The Krakens

The Northcote Water Polo Club: The Krakens was established in 2018 and is a new, but rapidly growing club that is passionate about providing an inclusive club environment for anyone that wants to play water polo. 

We are training at the new Northcote Aquatic & Recreation Centre and at MLC (Methodist Ladies' College), and Ivanhoe Grammar School (Adults).  

We compete in the Victorian Water Polo Metro Competition (various locations around Melbourne, games on Sundays) and carnivals such as Ballarat and Geelong and interstate (Australian Youth Championships Perth 2025 or Brisbane 2026) .  

• Summer Comp Oct - April (Break for Jan)  This does vary a small amount due to WP Aus schedules and is the main competition for clubs in Victoria.
• Autumn Comp School Term 2  Round robin series depending on team numbers
• Winter Comp School Term 3  Round robin series depending on team numbers

Junior Teams (9 to 18 yrs). You are welcome to join us for a free no obligation session or two but we do need to know prior.  If you decide to particpate then your child will be given some one on one training to build an understanding of the game and the techniques used. For the youngest KRAKLES (7-10 yrs) we are piloting a new program at NARC in the learn to swim pool. If you are interested you can Pre-register here.   The very first edition of KRAKLES is running for five weeks from Thurs 23rd May.

Adult Members: We have had significant interest in the Adult game and have now run Wednesday sessions at Ivanhoe Grammar school.  We have entered our first mixed team in the Autum State League compettion.  If you are keen to get involved, and potentially help out with organising, please register here.  We currently have complete beginners to ex-players so everyone is welcome.
